Business Injury Claims

If you have a business then you could be aware of how difficult it can be if someone asks for accident at work compensation. Even if you have a really good health and safety process and everyone is kept as safe as possible, there is always the chance of an accident. Then you have to work to prove that it was not your fault.
Just having rules in place is not enough. Everyone has to stick to the rules. If the employees are not looking out for each others safety, then there could easily be an accident. It is important that they realise how important it is that they follow all the safety rules, both to keep themselves safe and to keep others safe. If you can prove that they have not been doing this, then you should be able to take disciplinary action against them. It is important that they know that this is a possibility as it may make them take this aspect of their job more seriously. Something which might also convince them is if you demonstrate to them what might be the consequences of them not sticking to the rules and how they could be responsible for injuring a colleague. No one wants to do this.
If someone does have an accident then you need to use it as a heads up on what is unsafe in the work place. Even if it was their own fault, you need to think about how it could have been avoided. It is therefore important to look in the accident book on a regular basis, so you have an idea of what is going on and anything that you could do to prevent the injuries happening again. You do not want your workforce being injured, even if it is their own fault because even if they cannot get compensation, they can still take time off sick, which could be a big problem for you.
